Born in the Island of Andros, Lilika (Papanikolaou-Maris) attended freelance lessons in painting.  She had her first solo exhibition in London (1979), but had participated to group shows already since 1975.  Other solo and group exhibitions followed both in Greece and abroad.  In 1998 she was awarded by the Académie des Sciences, Paris.  Parallel to painting, she had shown a remarkable work as an author and poet.  Her painting is abstract and concentrates in the depiction of the heavenly world.  Lilika (Papanikolaou-Maris) passed away in Athens (2013).
