Born in Thessalonica, Silia Daskopoulou studied at the School of Fine Arts, Athens till 1960 with Yannis Moralis.  She continued with freelance studies for painting in Paris (1967-1970).  She had her first one-woman exhibition in Athens (1962).  Other solo and group shows followed, including three Pan-Hellenic exhibitions.  With intense naive and impressionist elements, her work concentrates on the female existence.  Silia Daskopoulou passed away in Athens (2006).
