Born at the Island of Lefkas, Spiros Verykios studied at the School of Fine Arts, Athens (1985-1991), painting with Dimitris Mitaras and graphic arts with Yannis Papadakis.  He had his first solo exhibition in Athens (1994).  Other one-man and group shows followed in Greece and abroad.  He has also illustrated a series of books and magazines.  His work moves between pop-art and new-expressionism.  He lives and works in Athens.
