PERSA
(CANGELARIS-BERGERAT) (1952)
Born in Alexandria (Egypt),
Persa
(Cangelaris-Bergerat) settled with her family in Athens (1961), where
she took lessons on graphic arts and studied painting with Antonis
Apergis. In 1975 she moved to Montreux (Switzrland), where
she
continued her studies in painting with Max Dissar and Bernard Blanc
(later her second husband).
She had her first solo
exhibition in Montreux
(1988). Other solo and group shows
followed both in Switzerland and Greece.
She has illustrated posters
and stage scenery. She was awarded with the 1st Prize of the
Art
Forum Committee (1998), in Montreux. In the limits of
abstract
and depictive painting, her work is distinguished by a strong symbolic
character. She is the sister of diplomat and collector
Panayotis
D. Cangelaris. She is actually living and working in Trey
(Switzerland).
