  NERINA (LIBEROPOULOU) (1942-2003)

Born at Sparta, Nerina (Liberopoulou) studied at the Athens Technological Institute, as well as with Photis Kondoglou.  She worked in Paris from 1969 to 1975, when she permanently settled on the Island of Corfu, initially at Messoghi and later at Dasia.  She had designed stage scenery and costumes for cinema and puppet show and had engaged herself in the illustrating of books, the hagiography of churches, as well as the interior decoration both in Greece and France.  She had her first solo exhibition in Athens (1964) and presented her work in Paris as well.  At this particular painting an abstract geometric disposition prevails.  Nerina (Liberopoulou) passed away in Athens (2003).
