  THEODOROS MANOLIDIS (1940)

Born in Athens, Theodoros Manolidis studied at the School of Fine Arts with Yannis Moralis (1957-1961) and consequently at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris (1961-1962).  He had his first one-man exhibition in Paris (1975), while since 1973 he participated in group shows in Greece and abroad.  His work belongs to the area of hyperrealism influenced from the techniques of the Byzantine painting in order to render a stage scenery result of optical illusion (trompe-l'oeil).  He lives and works in Athens and New York.
