Born in Athens, Giorgos Lanaras studied painting with Ilias Dekoulakos at the School of Fine Arts (1982-1987) and at the same time at the Royal College of Art, London (1986).  He had his first one-man exhibition in Athens (1990).  Other solo and group shows followed in Greece and abroad.  His work belongs to the neo-expressionism.  He lives and works in Athens.
