MATO
IOANNIDOU (1960)
Born
in Athens, Mato Ioannidou studied French literature and theatrology at
the Sorbonne University (1978-1985) and painting at the École Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris
(1981-1985), at the workshop of Roger Plin and Jean Bertholle. She had her
first one-woman
exhibition in Athens (1988).
However, she had participated
in group shows already since 1985. Other, solo and group
exhibitions were to follow in Greece and abroad. Since 1987
she
is teaching art at the Lycée
Franco-Hellénique (Athens)
and since 1990 she is working at the workshop for painting of the
Center for Art and Letters "APOPSI" [View]. Her work is
placed in
the area of post-impressionist abstraction. She
lives and works in Athens.
