  DIMITRIS GRAMMATICOPOULOS (1930)

Born in Athens, Dimitris Grammaticopoulos studied in Paris architecture and urbanism, as well as design, painting and sculpture at the École Spéciale d´Architecture (1957-1958), the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (1959-1968), the École de la Grande Chaumière (1959-1960), the École Montparnasse (1959-1962) and the École d´Urbanisme (1968-1970).  Since 1962 he has participated in a series of group exhibitions in Athens and abroad.  He was the founder of G.R.A.M. (Groupe de Recherches d'Art Moderne) for the development of collective works of art (1970).  In 1983 he founded in Athens and directs until today the "Epipeda" [Levels] Galleries of Art.  He has also taken care and published some books of renown painters.  His work is abstract.  He is the brother of painter Yannis Grammaticopoulos.  He lives and works in Athens.
