COSTAS
EVANGELATOS (1957)
Born at
Argostoli (Cephalonia),
Costas Evangelatos made freelance studies on design in Athens
(1975-1977) and took lessons in history of art and painting at the New School University of New
York at the classes of Pearl Ehrlich and Allen David
(1983-1985).
He is also a graduate of the Law School of Athens. His first
one-man exhibition took place at Argostoli in
1973. He
has exhibited his work in a series of solo and group shows in Greece
and abroad. He was the art director of DADA Gallery
(1986-1993) and founder of the group Art Studio "EST".
At the same time he was
engaged with poetry, performance, body art and happening. He has
illustrated poetry collections and heraldic studies and has given
conferences on aesthetic and fine art matters. A poetic
symbolic
realism and a romantic abstraction characterize his work. He
lives and works in Athens.
