  YANNIS ADAMAKIS (1959)

Born at Keratsini, Yannis Adamakis first studied Economics at the School of Financial and Commercial Sciences in Athens (1977-1984).  From 1982 to 1985 he took lessons in painting by Thodoros Pantos, having been registered at the School of Fine Arts at the same time (1983).  He had his first one-man show in Athens (1988).  Before that he was shown in group exhibitions since 1983.  Many other solo and group shows followed in Greece.  From 1983 to 1987 he was member of "Group SYN", while since 1989 he is teaching painting at the Open Workshop for Painting of the Keratsini Municipality.  In between realism and abstract, his work brings a neo-romantic air with an expressionist touch.  He lives and works in Keratsini.
