Born in Athens, Haris Mavros studied , in Paris architecture at the Architecture School of the University Paris 6 (1973-1979) and painting at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, with Claude Augereau (1978-1981).  He had his first solo exhibition in Athens (1984), but had participated to group shows already since 1979.  Other solo and group exhibitions followed in Greece and abroad.  This specific work belongs to his neo-expressionist research.  He lives and works in Athens.
