TAKIS
KATSOULIDIS (1933)
Born at
Messini, Takis Katsoulidis
studied painting and etching at the School of Fine Arts, Athens
(1952-1958) with Yannis Moralis and Yannis Kefallinos. He
continued his studies on wood engraving and lithography at the École des Beaux-Arts
(1962-1966) with Robert Cami and Pierre-Eugène
Clairin and on graphic arts at the
École Estienne, in
Paris. He had his first one-man exhibition in
Athens (1970). Other solo and group shows followed in Greece
and
abroad, including the Biennales at
Alexandria, Sao Paolo and
Paris. He taught graphic arts at the Athens Technological
Institute and continues teaching at the Technical Educational Institute
of Athens.
He has illustrated many books, albums,
Greek and Cypriot postage stamps, as well as high dimensional surfaces
in banking establishments in Greece and abroad. In the field
of
new-realism, his work is appreciated for the integrity of its drawing
and coloring approach. He lives and works in Athens.
