  DIMITRIS TRAGAS (1953)

Born in Athens, Dimitris Tragas studied at the Vakalo School (1972-1975) with Yannis Valavanidis and Panayotis Tetsis.  He had his first one-man show at the Island of Chios (1986).  Other solo and group exhibitions followed in Greece and abroad.  He has taught painting at the Program for Popular Education of the Municipality of Athens.  In his work he surpasses his expressionist quests and brings then to metaphysic ones.  He lives and works in Athens.
