  DIMITRIS MILIONIS (1960)

Born in Sydney Australia, Dimitris Milionis explored drawing and wood and metal working at his native city (1972-1974).  After settling in Greece he studied drawing, mechanical drawing and architecture at the American Community Schools' Academy in Athens (1974-1978).  He had his first one-man show in  Athens (1992) to be followed by other solo and group exhibitions in Greece. He was also engaged in photography (since 1974), film making and production (1979-1980), as well as etching and icon painting (since 1990).  A combination of Greek cultural traditions, Byzantine icon painting and miniature painting of the Middle Ages, his work produces a distinct surrealistic blend.  He lives and works in Athens.
