  TAKIS KATSOULIDIS (1933)

Born at Messini, Takis Katsoulidis studied painting and etching at the School of Fine Arts, Athens (1952-1958) with Yannis Moralis and Yannis Kefallinos.  He continued his studies on wood engraving and lithography at the École des Beaux-Arts (1962-1966) with Robert Cami and Pierre-Eugène Clairin and on graphic arts at the École Estienne, in Paris.  He had his first one-man exhibition in Athens (1970).  Other solo and group shows followed in Greece and abroad, including the Biennales at Alexandria, Sao Paolo and Paris.  He taught graphic arts at the Athens Technological Institute and continues teaching at the Technical Educational Institute of Athens.  He has illustrated many books, albums, Greek and Cypriot postage stamps, as well as high dimensional surfaces in banking establishments in Greece and abroad.  In the field of new-realism, his work is appreciated for the integrity of its drawing and coloring approach.  He lives and works in Athens.
